If you’ve got a business to sell, getting started is easy. First, you’ll need to create an Eden Exchange account and specify what type of business seller you are (private seller, broker or franchisor). Then create your business listing from the My Dashboard tab. Fill out your business information, ensuring all mandatory fields are populated, complete the verification steps and submit your listing for approval. Within one business day, your business opportunity will be published and listed on the Eden Exchange network.

From there, you can create your own campaign, track and monitor your listing’s performance and so on - the choice is yours!

Creating a ‘good listing’, which is geared towards selling for the highest possible price, boils down to a number of things. To summarise here are the key points of creating a good listing:

  • Ensure that the title of your listing is something eye-catching and descriptive.
  • Include a detailed and informative description highlighting the key benefits and features of your business that makes it stand out from the competition
  • A great use of keywords that are relevant to your business (for example, if you were trying to sell a cafe, your keywords may include local, casual dining, trained staff, great location, artisanal, brunch)
  • And a large array of good quality photos – like the external premises of the business, the interior, the assets and equipment provided, pictures of the staff staying on board, your product offering and anything else you think would be helpful for a potential buyer to get a better understanding of your business. Make sure your photos are clear and of good resolution.
  • Contact information: consider including your mobile phone number, email address, business trading hours and any links to your business website or social media. Remember, it is important to stay responsive and get back to enquirers as soon as possible to help you sell your business quickly and efficiently.

We take the privacy of our users (business sellers, buyers, brokers & franchisors) extremely seriously. That’s why, our entire platform is designed to be as private and confidential as you need it to be. For example, if you’re a business seller and you don’t want your employees, suppliers or other stakeholders to know you’re selling your business, you can hide key information such as your business name from the listing and continue to trade as normal while you navigate your exit.

The same goes for confidential business information such as key financials, relationships with suppliers, employee information, exclusive IP and so on. And with that in mind, we offer all of our business sellers the option of a signed NDA to protect anything shared with potential buyers.

To maintain a safe and trusted space for business buyers and sellers to communicate and conduct a transaction, we require every Eden member to complete our two-stage (email and mobile) verification process. This is a crucial part of the Eden platform and ensures greater authenticity and credibility amongst our entire database, and ensures every buyer or seller is exactly who they say they are.

And on the business seller side, we also offer ABN/ACNverification, which we call Eden verified. This can be done under the verification page or during the business listing creation process. Now, while it may not be mandatory, listings with this level of verification offer a higher degree of authenticity and will be showcased as a higher priority to potential buyers than listings without the teal badge. Please note that your verification process will be marked as pending until an external check has taken place.
